A part of a month-long engineering and design assignment in Science Classes, the 5th grade engaged in a Bridge Building Event at the PE Center on 87th Street.  In groups, students buillt bridges using only newspaper and tape (and meter sticks, scissors and pencils).  They recorded the amount of newspaper sheets used, and the weight of the finished bridge.  Then the Bridges were tested with premeasured sand bags to determine the load they could withstand.  Science teachers Baim, Jospehs & Langteau were assisted by 5th gr HAs, 5th gr PE Staff, and MS Administration.  In the end all brdiges were recycled with the help of Building Services.
