The entire first grade celebrated Earth Day by donating 300 reusable bags to the Food Emporium supermarket.  The supermarket will distribute the bags to its shoppers, packing groceries in them instead of in plastic bags.  The reusable bags were purchased with First Grade Walk-a-thon funds, and are made entirely from recycled materials.  Each bag had a note that informed shoppers that the bags were donated by Dalton First Graders, and urged shoppers to use them in the future.  The notes also had an Earth Day related picture drawn by a first grader.
