On Friday, January 7, during Long House, the students and faculty from 5 houses made their way, dancing between between cottonball-sized snowflakes to the gym for a stress releasing game of dodgeball.
With impending mid-terms, the stress level among high school students is palpable, flowing through Dalton's classrooms and labs, so a rowdy game of dodge-ball, fueled by donuts, served as a perfect release and spirit builder for the nearly 100 collective members of the Boyer/Minhat, Geisler/Viard-Andre, Odamtin/Hiatt, Klinger/Mason/Stein and Zulakis/Stolper Muenz houses. Several students demonstrated amazing tactical skills of deflection and deception as they baited potential pray by first sending a slowly rolling ball across the line to draw in a potential target. As war-like as this may sound, the competition was friendly and spirited; fair play was paramount and made obvious by swift and mutually respectful resolve. Fun was had by all.
