The 4th grade assignment was to draw an Australian animal, reptile or fish that fits the page. Paint it and add a patterned background in the style of Aboriginal Artists.  The 7th grade assignment asked students to use chalk pastels and show the progression from light to dark across the surface of a pear, and then add the shadow to create a convincing illusion of volume.
