Cross Country has a great day at Ivy Championships.
On a beautiful fall day, the girls cross country team finished third at the Ivy League Championship race on Friday. With only three members returning from last season's championship squad the Tigers relied heavily upon a lot of new runners all season long and they came through.
Top returner Malina Buturovic ran a great race, finishing second to earn All-Ivy honors for the second straight season. Nikki Lohr was the next Daltonian to cross the line in a personal best 18:25. Newbies Danielle Midulla and Keiko Higashikawa were the next two Tigers to finish both breaking the 19-minute mark. Emily Schein was the fifth Dalton runner in, securing the third place finish. She was closely followed by Harriet Fisher and Julia Rosenheim. In all the Tigers, had five runners this season break 19 minutes for the 2.5 mile course and seven go under 20 minutes _ both the best ever in school history. On the boys side, Parker Zhao was the first Dalton runner to finish in 11th place. Henry Woods was the next runner for the Tigers coming in 16th followed by Jack Ott. Dallton will finish up its season next Saturday morning in the NYSAIS championship.
