DGI Mandarin Trip Students and Faculty Arrive in Beijing

Surprisingly awake after a 16-hour + plane ride, these ten Dalton Mandarin students arrived in Beijing to begin their two week cultural, language immersion and service learning experience, sponsored by the Dalton Global Initiatives (DGI) program.
Along with sharpening their Mandarin language skills and exploring China's historic sites, the group -- with chaperones Molly Josephs and Adam Lanphier -- will work with students at the Dandelion School (for children of migrant families). During the second week of their visit, Dalton students plan to teach English and robotics.

Last week, before departing for China, high school students met with 2nd graders (House 24) for a pizza/pasta party and showed slides of sites they planned to visit. They will correspond with House 24 during their trip and answer the younger students' questions.

Visit the DGI China 2012 blog (Dalton community login required) to read the second grader's questions and to track the Mandarin's students' experiences.
