East African dance educator, Mabingo Alfdaniels, served as visiting dance teacher for classes of Dalton high school students. He taught the enthusiastic students many traditional steps and rhythms, which provide the foundation for East African choreography and dance.
Mr. Alfdaniels is a a dance educator, performer, researcher and community dance facilitator from Uganda, East Africa. He holds a Bachelors degree in Dance and a Masters degree (Anthropology of dances from Africa) from Makerere University, Uganda. He is currently a Fulbright exchange student pursuing graduate studies in dance education at New York University. He is also an adjunct teacher of African Dance and Intercultural Dance at NYU. Mabingo's teaches community dance and dances from cultures in East Africa. He has taught at Makerere University, and he is the executive directors of Dance Moves Africa, a non governmental organization that uses dance for community transformation and development.
