Recently, the Middle School Assemblies were devoted to topics related to the upcoming election. Many Houses and Social Studies classes took time to discuss issues related to the election over the course of the fall, so participation in this assembly was energetic. The 7th and 8th Grade Assembly featured: - An Election History Quiz from the 7/8 Current Events Club. - "Should the Electoral College be Abolished?" - A presentation from the Debate Club. - "Campaign Jeopardy" from members of 8th grade Social Studies classes featuring topics such as Health Care, Foreign Policy, and the economy. The 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Assembly featured: - Candidate Biographies from members of the 6th grade - "The Powers of the President" - A skit from the 4-6 Current Events Club - "Blind Issue Presentations" from members of 5th grade Social Studies. (Students presented the policies of both candidates on issues, but did not reveal the candidate until AFTER the presentation.) Many thanks to the many teachers that worked so hard to have kids ready to take the stage!
