The 5th Grade Tanzanian (Virtual) Connection
During the week of December 17-21, each fifth grade house had a Skype session with their buddies in Tanzania. Fifth graders are engaged in a shared curriculum with their buddies in The Maisha Program in the town of Iringa, maintaining a discussion board on global issues such as "Access to Water" and "Education as a Human Right."
Dalton students are also involved in fundraising efforts with The School Fund in order to ensure that their buddies can continue with their education and have access to daily snack as well as other basic school supplies. For their Skype session, students in New York and Africa craft personal and academic questions based on their online correspondence.
