Doug Berns '06 and former Dalton student Miles Arntzen are leading members of EMEFE, a super-hot Afro Beat/Funk band that draws its musical influences from Nigerian and Afrobeat originator, Fela Kuti. The band blasted the assembly with high energy clave-based funk featuring Fela's and some of their original compositions. Their improvisational and spirited performance finally roused students and faculty up and out of their seats to bounce along with the infectious rhythms and riffs.
