From Pumpkins to Storybook Characters: A Storybook Pumpkin Patch Full of Book-O'-Lanterns
One student in House 16 announced, "This was the best day of my life!" We had just finished creating our pumpkin projects! Not all books are equal in capturing children's imaginations and in cultivating the appetite for reading. Our goal in House 16's Pumpkin Project was to help our children find the ones that do!
We had so much fun turning pumpkins into our favorite storybook characters! The kids creativity was SHINING as they shared their ideas about how they hoped t to bring their character to life. Our House 16 Parents came in to help with this project and guide the kids along the way. It was, and continues to be a celebration of creativity and fun in learning to read! Hope you recognize some of the books and characters from those books.
