Varsity Volleyball Advances in NYSAIS Tournament

The Dalton Varsity Volleyball team played to a packed house Tuesday evening. The Tigers scored a 3-0 victory over a tenacious Calhoun team to advance to the second round of the NYSAIS Tournament.
Although the Tigers started out slowly, they quickly won a few points and looked for opportunities to take over the game.  Senior, Casey Brooks, had a big block in the first game, just one of her three blocks on the season, to help give Dalton the momentum it needed to gain a 1-0 lead in sets.  In a very back and forth game, sophomore Jane Mcleod recorded an impressive 19 kills.  Her dominant play helped lead the Tigers to a victory in 3 sets.  McLeod was complimented by junior, Lucy Dolan-Zalaznick and freshman, Lucy Fetterman in the middle of the court.  The pair of Lucy's helped control the game by recording a combined 11 blocks.  The entire team worked together to earn the first NYSAIS win in volleyball in the past 8 years. The leadership of the senior captains Brooks, Anna Hitchcock, and Grace Monk has helped shape this years team.  While the team is excited about their win they look forward to competing today (10/29) against the Spence School at 5:00 PM.  The match will be played at the Brearley Fieldhouse located at 353 east 87th street)
