The first high school assembly after the winter vacation was an informative presentation about wolves and wolf conservation. Maggie Howell, the executive director of the Wolf Wildlife Conservation Center gave a lecture on the importance of wolf conservation around the world.
The Wolf Wildlife Conservation Center (http://nywolf.org) aims to “teach people about wolves, their relationship to the environment and the human role in protecting their future.” Maggie Howell detailed the work that the organization has done as well as the impact and importance of wolves. She spoke about the various types of wolves and their role in nature. She also stressed how important the wolf conservation movement is at increasing the numbers of wolves in the wild. She ended her presentation by taking questions from the audience.
