Boys Varsity Basketball Defeats Horace Mann in First Round of NYSAIS Tournament!
In front of a packed gym, the Boys Varsity basketball team faced off against the Horace Mann School in the first round of the NYSAIS tournament on Wednesday, Feb 26, 2014. The Tigers got off to a quick start, gaining an early lead. Horace Mann rallied back cutting the lead to just 3 points into halftime.
In a second half that had too many lead exchanges to count, Senior Curtis Green led the way scoring 14 of his team high 19 points in the fourth quarter. Senior Co-Captain Adisa Majors, drove hard to the to lane finding Green in the corner for a 3 point shot with just 2.5 seconds left putting Dalton up by 1 point. Dalton played tough defense for the final seconds earning the victory and advancing to the semi-finals of the NYSAIS tournament.
The semi-finals will take place on Friday (2/28). The tigers face the #7 seed Riverdale Falcons at 5:00 PM at the Dalton Gym. We look forward to seeing everyone at the game sporting their Dalton BLUE!
