FP Students Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in House 91
Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated in the United States between September 15 and October 15. On September 26 Kavita Rekhi and Nancy DíEcclesiis - our First Program Spanish teachers- celebrated Hispanic heritage with students at House 91. Their goal was to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month with the students, introduce members of our community who speak Spanish, and include students in a guessing game about various young actors who also speak Spanish.
Students sang songs and engaged in an activity in which they were asked to stand up if they knew of anyone who speaks Spanish or if they speak the language themselves. Students were engaged and the kindergarten students were able to share their growing Spanish skills with first grade students. It was an exciting way to introduce and share the program and curriculum with the First Program. ¡Viva el español!
