Homecoming began on Friday night, September 18, with both JV (2-0) and Varsity (3-2) Volleyball teams clinching exciting victories against Trinity to the delight of cheering fans packing the bleachers. The next day, Girls JV Soccer continued the winning streak with a definitive (4-0) win vs. Marymount. Girls Varsity Soccer played a tough game that ended in a (1-1) tie against Trinity. Boys Varsity Soccer won (1-0) against Trinity, while Boys JV Soccer lost a grueling game (2-4 OT) vs. Trinity. Varsity Football suffered a close overtime loss (27-28 OT) vs. Newark Academy. Girls Varsity Tennis put forth a great effort, but was defeated by Trinity (0-5), a formidable opponent.
During this busy weekend, enthusiastic students participated in Friday’s pep rally -– led by Dalton’s exuberant mascot Ivan the Tiger. On Saturday, September 19, families enjoyed beautiful summer weather at the Family Fun Day on Randall’s Island -– including face painting, a fun run, coach-led games for the youngest students, and relaxing picnic lunches.
