  • Visiting the Library

The Big Dalton middle school library is open daily from 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.  Located on the 4th floor at Big Dalton, students in grades 5-8 are welcome to use the open library as needed throughout the school day, with teacher permission. The library is also open after school until 6:00 p.m. for 7th /8th graders. There is a sign in binder located at the HS circulation desk. Throughout the year, teachers in various content areas will work collaboratively with the librarians on research projects to teach information literacy skills and literature-based projects, such as book groups, to foster a love of reading.

At Dalton East, 4th graders have weekly library classes and a librarian also visits everyday during their lunch/lab time for open checkout. There are also various other touch points throughout the year when the library and teachers work in collaboration on research and literature projects.
