  • Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of all giving to Dalton and supports the ongoing day-to-day operational expenses of the School. It allows us to attract and retain talented faculty; provide exceptional academic, arts and athletic programs; and offer meaningful scholarship opportunities. For more information, please contact Colleen Grimes at cgrimes@dalton.org or 212-423-5458.
  • The Dalton Centennial Campaign

With its 100th birthday approaching in 2019, Dalton is at an exciting moment in its history. In keeping with Helen Parkhurst’s dictate to change with the changing world, we recently seized a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine our entire school for the 21st century. To modernize our facility to facilitate project-based, experiential learning, we embarked upon the most ambitious expansion in the School’s history. This transformative building project, together with other priorities outlined in Dalton’s Strategic Plan, will be funded by The Dalton Centennial Campaign, a $100 million, 5-year fundraising initiative.

We began the quiet phase of our Centennial Campaign in July 2015 to fund the building project, which impacts 32,000 square feet of space. The School is adding two stories totaling 12,200 sq. ft. atop the 89th Street building. The project also encompasses a selective reconfiguration and renovation of existing floors. The new and renovated facility will include a dedicated STEAM Center (top 4 floors) and open space for collaborative, interdisciplinary meetings and community events.

In addition to the expansion and renovation at 89th Street, our Centennial Campaign provides numerous funding opportunities aligned with the priorities outlined in Dalton’s Strategic Plan. All funding options fall into the following categories – the Dalton Student, the Dalton Teacher, the Dalton Citizen, the Dalton Environment, and the Dalton Trajectory.

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Ellen C. Stein and Campaign Co-Chairs Cheryl Cohen Effron ’83, Eric Lee, Bruce Menin, Tony Meyer ’79, and Sabrina Smith, we have secured numerous leadership gifts and are well on our way to reaching our goal. Following the public launch of the Campaign in January 2018, we now look to every member of our community parents, alumni, faculty, staff, grandparents, parents of alumni and friends  to participate in this important initiative. We hope everyone will consider making a gift or pledge to our Centennial Campaign before its official close on June 30, 2020.

  • Senior Class Gift

Parents of seniors are asked to make one meaningful, increased gift to Dalton that will be allocated 25% to the Senior Class Gift and 75% to the Annual Fund. The Senior Class Gift has become an essential Dalton tradition. Selected by seniors, this gift honors the graduating class while bestowing a meaningful legacy from the Class of 2019 to the school. The Annual Fund supports the day-to-day operational expenses of the school not covered by tuition. For more information, please contact Colleen Grimes cgrimes@dalton.org or 212-423-5458.
