Judy Geller was critically important to me as a teacher and supporter. I became a family doctor partly as a result of her amazing science teaching. She encouraged curiosity and inquisitiveness. I am eternally grateful for her as the quintessential educator!   -Former student
[In 9th grade, Ms. Geller invited me] to hear Anna Freud. I had no idea that [therapy] would become my profession, but I like to think that Ms. Geller saw something in me that she wanted to encourage. I feel huge gratitude.   -Former student
She was on my side when I felt like no one else was, and she was steadfast in her support. Ms. Geller was "that" teacher for me, the teacher who most impacted me when I was young, and whom I'll never forget.   -Anonymous
Ms. Geller was the best teacher I ever had. I didn't even like biology, but I loved her class so much, I did a biology senior project just so I could have her as an advisor.    -Former student
It's rare that you have the privilege of witnessing someone doing what they were born to do, fully aligned with their purpose, accessing the full potential of their true gifts and sharing that with the world. But that's what it was to be in Ms. Geller's class, and I couldn't be more grateful.   -Former student
Ms. Geller was my house advisor for all four years of high school (as well as my biology teacher one of those years.). I could not have asked for a better advisor — she was always on top of things, making sure we knew the information we needed to know.   -Former student/advisee
Ms. Geller always made time to be available if you needed anything. I loved hearing that she was still at Dalton after all these years — and can only imagine how many young lives she impacted in her time. Thanks, Ms. Geller for all you did!   -Former advisee/student
Judy was my first mentor, my first department head at my first job out of college, in 1987. She taught me how to be a teacher. I am still a science teacher 36 years later. I thought that was a long time until I read that Judy was at Dalton for 66 years!   -Former colleague
Miss (as we said then) Slater was a wonderful and interesting teacher who was open to concepts that might challenge the scientific constructs from the time.   -Former student
I've always called her Ms. Geller, though since graduating high school, she was insistent that I finally call her Judy. She invited me to visit her last May, which was the last time we saw each other. I almost managed to consistently call her Judy! I will miss our annual brunch this year.   -Former student
Judy was a brilliant, dedicated, and caring educator. What began as a mentorship turned into a lasting friendship spanning 40+ years. I miss her dearly.   -Former colleague
She was an open-minded, very smart, and interesting woman, and we are grateful to have known her!   -Friend
I feel very lucky to have become a friend and colleague of Judy's daughter, Susan. While I never had the chance to meet her mom, Susan spoke so highly and lovingly about her.   -Friend
[Judy was a] wonderful and caring mom who raised two fabulous daughters!   -Friend
I knew Judy all my life...but we became close when my mother began suffering from dementia in 1997. She was very supportive until my mother's passing. I will never forget her kindness.   -Friend
I began teaching biology at Dalton in 1972 and was only 24 with little experience. Judy became my mentor and helped me succeed during those first challenging years. I never would have become the educator that I did without her input and guidance. We were colleagues for 16 years and remained good friends until she passed away. She will be missed.   -Former colleague
Judy had a fantastic ability to discuss science. I remember when she first told me about interferons. She was also a clear, rational, slow to anger person with whom I could discuss anything.   -Friend
Dalton was her home.   -Former student
Such a lovely woman, she was incredibly kind to me and I'll never forget that.   -Former student
Judy was my teacher in the 7th grade. I remember her as being tenacious, curious, and kind overall. She loved talking about biology. I remember that.   -Former student
Judy was my homeroom teacher: I clearly remember that "Osmosis is diffusion through a semi-permeable membrane". She and Richard Malenky were great teachers.   -Former student
