The Dalton Tiger MS Football team continued their undefeated season Thursday against the Lions of Horace Mann. Both the Tigers and the Lions saw drives stall out inside their own twenty yard line to start the game sending the two teams to the half locked in a scoreless tie. The Defenses continued to play strong in the third quarter keeping the score at 0-0. Dalton broke the scoring drought on the second play of the fourth quarter with a 70 yard TD pass, the longest in Dalton MS history, to take a 6-0 lead. The Lions answered right back with two scores to make the game 14-6. The Dalton Defense held strong on the two-point try to keep the deficit at 8. Dalton then marched 65 yards in two minutes to score a touch down to bring the game within two at 14-12. Dalton then sent their running back across the goal line untouched for the successful try to tie the game 14-14 with one minute to play.  The Tiger’s Defense held on for the tie. Dalton is looking forward to their final game of the season Thursday November, 5, 2009 against the Buckley School.
