Another tough encounter against a physical Poly Prep ended in a disappointing 4-1 loss. The score however did not necessarily reflect the performance. After being 2-0, Dalton picked up their game and started getting into their pass and move rhythm, coming close to scoring twice before the break. A dubious decision by the official gave Poly a free kick just outside the area and Poly scored to make it 3-0 by half time. The second half was a fantastic performance where Dalton’s tiki taka made up for some excellent play, ultimately getting a goal out of it as Ben Ginzberg scored a header from a cross after a 9-pass combination. A fantastic solo shot by Poly took the game too far to reach but the progress is there.
Dalton finished the game with many positives. The system that is being learnt is not like any other around the league, so it will take time, no doubt. But the Tigers are getting close, and when they do, the results will come their way.
