Dear Dalton Community Members,

I’m excited to welcome your children back to school! As the year gets underway, I hope you’ll find this overview of philanthropic opportunities and events at Dalton to be helpful.

The school’s fundraising success relies on our partnership with volunteers. My thanks to those of you who already serve as volunteers. If not, I hope you’ll consider volunteering with the Advancement office on a fundraising initiative such as the Annual Fund or Dalton’s Spring Benefit 2026. Volunteering can be an enjoyable way to meet fellow community members while also supporting our school.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to me or an Advancement team member (you’ll find their contact information below).

All my best,

José M. De Jesús
Head of School

About Philanthropy at Dalton
Charitable giving at Dalton provides a critical investment in our students, faculty, staff, programs, and facilities. Community members’ generous gifts keep Dalton on firm financial footing and send a clear message to other donors, including foundations, that our families and alumni support our school. We hope that you, as key community members, will make Dalton your philanthropic priority and will also volunteer to help us reach our fundraising goals.

Dalton Alumni Go Forth and Give Back
Our distinguished Alumni make Dalton more vibrant and robust. Alums generously support fundraising initiatives that help provide current students with an unparalleled education. As volunteers, they share their expertise in the classroom and at assemblies, mentor recent graduates, offer internships, and more. Alumni engagement affirms the value of the Dalton experience, advances Dalton's mission, and supports the school's transformative work with future generations.

Annual Fund 2025–2026
Each year Dalton relies on the support of parents, alumni, faculty, staff, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends for a robust Annual Fund, which runs from July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026. The Annual Fund is the school’s highest fundraising priority, and we ask all community members to contribute to the Annual Fund while considering additional philanthropic opportunities.

Your unrestricted, tax-deductible gift helps support our mission and is an immediate, tangible investment in our students’ lives, allowing us to respond to day-to-day needs and other pressing priorities as an essential supplement to tuition revenue and the endowment. A robust Annual Fund relies on strong participation. Every gift impacts the student experience, and we hope you’ll support Dalton at whatever charitable giving level is meaningful for you.

To make your gift, go to www.dalton.org/give or please contact Director of the Annual Fund Brigid Berger at 212-423-5458
 or giving@dalton.org.
Spring Benefit
We hope you’ll join us for a fun night out — while helping to support our School — at our annual Spring Benefit on Thursday evening, April 23, 2026. Please save the date and stay tuned for details! Questions? Please contact Special Events Manager Merrin Meltzer at 212-423-5392, events@dalton.org.

The Class of 2026’s
Senior Class Gift

Each year, Senior Class parents are asked to contribute to both the Annual Fund and the Senior Class Gift — a one-time gift that honors Dalton graduates while bestowing a meaningful legacy from the graduating class to the School. This is in addition to the family's support of the Annual Fund. The Seniors will vote on the allocation of this collective gift in the fall. For more information, please contact the Director of the Annual Fund Brigid Berger at 212-423-5458 or giving@dalton.org.

Endowment
An endowment, a dedicated source of funding, makes it possible to implement key past and present Strategic Plan priorities to benefit Dalton including current and future students, faculty and staff, programming, and curriculum. As a permanent asset made up of donated gifts, the endowment supports the school’s mission and ongoing work. The endowment forms the capital strength of the school by providing stability and flexibility, giving Dalton the power to respond to long-term needs. For more information about our endowed funding opportunities, please contact  Director of Strategic Engagement Hannah Cobin at 212-423-5316 or advancement@dalton.org.
