On October 17, 2015 members of the Dalton community joined together with New York Cares for a day of service. Parents and students worked together to clean, paint, and garden the neighborhood community school yard at PS 140 on the Lower East Side.

We came in as a team to clean, paint, and garden in an effort to beautify a neighborhood community school yard, or as NY Cares states to lend “a hand to improve New York City”.
The day was a huge success as we worked hard to revitalize a playground for children at PS 140 on the Lower East Side. We worked alongside other NY Cares volunteers and the atmosphere was filled with filled with much joy and laughter.
We left tired but proud of our accomplishments and happy that we were able to make a difference so that young children and other members of the community can enjoy playing in a newly renovated schoolyard.
