Latest Pop Food Restaurant Serves Spanish and Moorish Fare
The Pop Food Program held its annual winter restaurant on January 9, 2016. A tempting treat for Dalton foodies, reservations for five seatings went quickly, so the tiny restaurant nestled in the Student Lounge was packed with hungry customers. Inspired by the cuisine of John Gorham, and under the supervision of Charlie Forster, Bob Sloan, and Blake Pearson, 25 students created this popup, one-night-only restaurant.
The class designed the dining environment, handled reservations and service, and cooked food for 120 customers including family, friends, and even a surprise visit from Chef Michael Anthony, Executive Chef at Gramercy Tavern. The meal included 20 different dishes inspired by American tapas with Spanish and Moorish influences. As one parent/patron said, "Another memorable night for Dalton student enterprise, collaboration, creativity, and sheer elbow grease. It was delicious and wonderful."
