The sixth Annual Dalton Middle School Spelling Bee was held on Friday, November 18. Twenty-four winners of the 5th-8th grade level bees competed for a place in the New York City finals. The twenty-four students went six rounds to determine the school winners: Ingrid Appen ’22, Jusani Morris ‘22, and Alana Taylor ‘23. Nathaniel Ting ’21 is the alternate in the event one of the winners is unable to participate in the next round. On March 20 and 21 the students will compete at the finals which will be held at the New York Public Library. Winners of that competition go on to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
