First Graders Feel Grateful and Proud

The entire first grade came together for a wonderful community service project and celebration. The children made sandwiches for the New York Common Pantry to distribute to people in need during Thanksgiving week. Some of the money raised during the grade-wide Walk-a-Thon was used to purchase the sandwich materials.
The students were excited to help others in our community. The children expressed feeling grateful, proud, happy, inspired and helpful. The First Grade thanks you for your support in helping to raise the money with your child!

At the end of our gathering, the entire first grade performed their version ("Kid in the Mirror") of Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" led by Dance/Theater Specialist Justin Greer. It was a wonderful way to culminate our project and kickoff the holiday season!
