Dalton School Starts Buzzing as Spellers Strut Their Stuff!
It’s been a decade since Dalton started buzzing! The tenth annual school level Scripps National Spelling Bee was held on November 15.
Twenty-six finalists from grades 5-8 participated in the bee.At an assembly in the Martin Theater teachers and classmates cheered on the spellers. After six rounds of spelling, the following students were declared school champions: Patrick Spencer (6th grade), Charles Kim (7th grade), and Ashwin Ranjan (8th grade) and alternate, Olivia Meyers (6th grade).
The champions will compete in the New York City spelling bee finals this March. Winners of that competition will go on to compete for a $50,000 cash prize in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in the late spring. Congratulations and good luck!
