HS Students’ Political Action Club Encourages Community Members to Complete the Census and Make a Voting Plan!
Students in Dalton’s Political Action Club are encouraging our community to complete the Census and make a plan to vote! The Census deadline is September 30, and this effort is crucial to ensure that our city and state receive the proper representation and funding. Additionally, as the election draws closer, it is important to make a plan to vote. Studies have shown that individuals who make a voting plan before election day are more likely to vote. Whether you plan to fill out an absentee ballot (the deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 27), vote early (from October 24 to November 1), or vote on election day (November 3), please be sure to fulfill your civic duty. See the information below for more details on filling out the Census, requesting mail-in ballots, voting in-person, and other essential information for being an educated and engaged citizen.
Have you filled out the Census?
The deadline to fill out the census has been extended to September 30, 2020, so fill it out NOW by clicking here. It’s ten simple questions and it is your civic duty!

If you are able, sign up to be a poll worker! The US is facing a shortage of poll workers, threatening the efficiency, effectiveness, and credibility of elections. All poll workers receive PPE and training, and some receive stipends as well. All registered voters over the age of 18 can sign up, and some 17-year-olds are eligible as well. Poll workers in NY are paid. Find out if you’re eligible and sign up here.
