About 300 Dalton community members gathered virtually on Thursday, May 20, for the annual Spring Benefit. This year's event entitled "Together/Apart" consisted of a virtual, immersive, and interactive evening of puzzles and games with entertaining experts.
Head of School Jim Best kicked off the virtual festivities with a welcome address before Board President Aly Jeddy delivered his opening remarks. Following Jacobs' remarks, attendees broke off into game groups where they participated enthusiastically in crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, trivia, and a Rubik's cube room. Gameroom hosts included New York Times Puzzle Constructor Brendan Emmett Quigley; Magician and Puzzle Creator David Kwong; and Professional Rubik's Speed-Cuber Sydney Weaver.
In addition, the keynote speaker of the night, Grandmaster Garry Kasparov P'25, discussed his role as a consultant for the hit Netflix program, "The Queen's Gambit," and took part in a Q&A session with attendees.
