The First Grade welcomed Daniel Trush and Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF) staff for an assembly on Tuesday, April 19.
DMF is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to empower individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music.
On Tuesday, Daniel and his team presented to the First Graders and led a group sing-along to his song "50 Million Reasons." He spoke to the students about the challenges of overcoming obstacles as a disabled person and the great joy he receives from helping others through music.
At the conclusion of the event, the First Grade presented Daniel and the Foundation with a portion of the proceeds raised from this year's Walk-A-Thon.
