Colson Whitehead Caps Captivating 2022 Dalton Prose Festival

Dalton parent and award-winning author Colson Whitehead P'32 closed out this year’s enjoyable Dalton Prose Festival on Tuesday, April 26.

The Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, and MacArthur Genius grant recipient read excerpts from his latest book Harlem Shuffle and from his upcoming sequel. In his conversation with moderator and Dalton's Director of the Creative Writing Program Chris Hood, he talked about his background, writing process, and how he comes up with and develops story ideas. He also answered questions from the audience and autographed books.

Colson’s appearance capped an exciting two weeks of events, which opened with Julianna Margulies P'26 and featured an eye-opening Agents & Authors session.
