Allison Albino Contributes Two Poems to Asian-American Anthology
Middle and High School French teacher Allison Albino’s poetry is featured in the soon-to-be released anthology, "They Rise Like A Wave, An Anthology of Asian-American Poets.”
The anthology, which features two of Allison’s poems “Father’s Advice” and “Too Me Again,” “aims to spotlight the voices of Asian American women and non-binary poets writing through these difficult times” and seeks to “show that there is no single style, topic, or theme that defines an Asian American poetics.”
Allison’s newest release, "Father's Advice" is based on a conflict between a father who has immigrated to the United States from the Philippines and his U.S.-born daughter.
"Too Me Again" which is already published, is a poem about accents.
A recipient of the inaugural Kenyon Review Developmental Editing Fellowships for Emerging Writers Award, Allison’s poetry has appeared in several publications, including Alaska Quarterly Review and The Common.
