Prosit! 5th Graders Celebrate a Roman Feast in Latin Class
In their Introduction to Latin class, 5th graders dressed up to celebrate a Roman cena, or feast, in style on Friday, September 30.
After singing the "Come to Dinner" song ("Venite Cenatum") in Latin, students set the classroom up as a triclinium, or Roman dining room, and feasted on traditional Roman foods such as grapes, cheese, bread, and student-friendly vinum, or grape juice.
Prosit! or Cheers! to all as these Latin students continue their journeys following a family in Pompeii in the first century CE.
