The MS and HS Asian Cultures Clubs and HS DIYA Club festively decorated the 89th Street Lobby Showcase to celebrate Diwali and other South Asian fall festivals. Special thanks to parents who donated some decorative elements, too!
At First Program on Thursday and Friday, 2nd grade parents delivered Diwali presentations and treats to their children’s Houses. Eager to learn about the history and tradition of Diwali, students excitedly welcomed their special guests and enjoyed hearing from their classmate’s parents! In addition, the 2nd graders painted their own diyas (small oil lamps) and played Diwali bingo.
On Thursday, the Learning Support Team and the HS Office hosted a Diwali celebration featuring samosas and gulab jamuns. Faculty and staff stopped by in the morning to enjoy the traditional treats!
