The Middle School Service Leaders Club led a Halloween Costume Drive, sending over 20 boxes of gently worn Halloween costumes to The Floating Hospital, a healthcare safety organization serving more than 25,000 children and their adults each year.
Thanks to our community’s donation, these children and adults could select costumes from multiple clothing racks and celebrate Halloween in style!
Dalton 5th grader Ayana Ashraf ’30 shared her experience and the joy of supporting this drive:
"When I was little, Halloween was one of the biggest holidays to me. A day of dressing up as whoever you want and infinite candy? What more could I want? Even now, as a 10-year-old, Halloween is still so much fun. Trick-or-treating with friends and just walking around seeing other people's creative costumes was exciting for me. In my mind, Halloween was the best holiday for a kid. But as I grew older, I realized not everyone is as fortunate as me. Some people couldn't afford costumes, while others threw away their costumes. So I thought, "`Why can't WE as a community donate costumes to people who need them?"
Well said! Thank you to everyone who contributed to brightening up this Halloween!
