Parent Community Gathers for Inaugural “A Seat at the Table” Event
At the inaugural “A Seat at the Table” on Monday, December 5, Chief of Equity and Belonging Johára Tucker, in collaboration with the Parents Association, set the stage for an evening of convivial conversation, shared laughter, and connection through stories.
With attendees enjoying a delicious dinner and refreshments, Johára kicked off the night with conversation starters, “What does it mean to be your authentic self?” and “In what spaces can you be your authentic self?”
The parent community used these prompts to share an array of perspectives with one another. The discussion flowed throughout the two-hour event with anticipation building for the next “A Seat at the Table” (details will be shared at a later date).
Thank you to the parent community in attendance for courageously sharing a bit of themselves and to the facility and dining staff who arranged a beautiful evening!
