Daniel’s Music Foundation Inspires at MS & HS Assemblies

It is always so wonderful when Daniel Trush and Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF) visit us here at Dalton! This week, Daniel and the team presented at MS and HS assemblies and led the students and faculty in a sing-along of his hit song “50 Million Reasons.”
Founded in 2006, DMF is a non-profit organization empowering individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music.

As a 12-year-old student at Dalton, one of Daniel’s five undetected brain aneurysms unexpectedly ruptured, causing him to face the ultimate challenge of survival. Through perseverance and the support of his medical team, family, and friends, Daniel overcame the odds and eventually discovered his “superpower” – music.

Daniel and the foundation made it their mission to help inspire the disabled and create a place where individuals of all abilities can enjoy, learn, and practice the joy of music together.

At this week’s Assemblies, with the support of his father, Ken, who serves as Chairman of the foundation, and their Marketing and Disability Awareness Director Carla Sullivan, Daniel shared his inspirational story and highlights of DMF’s work in the community. In addition, the team provided insight into the history of disability in the United States and fielded questions from the students.

Thank you to Daniel and the team for stopping by and inspiring all of us!
