8th Grade Spanish Students Serve at East Harlem’s Carter Burden/Leonard Covello Senior Center
Over the past months, 8th grade Spanish students visited the Carter Burden/Leonard Covello Senior Center in East Harlem – which provides meals, activities, and social events to older adults in the neighborhood.
Students helped prepare and serve several hundred meals to Seniors who rely on the Center’s services. Students bagged side dishes, took and served food orders, helped clear and clean, and even doubled as baristas, assisting with tea and coffee. On top of that, many put their Spanish to good use speaking with the majority Latinx community. We're looking forward to further partnership with this organization!
