Meeting Up with Alums in Chicago & Boston for Conversation and Connection

In early December, an excited contingent from Dalton hit the road for Alumni regional visits. The first stop was Chicago on December 4, 2023, followed by Boston on December 5-6, 2023.
In Chicago, Alums joined Head of School José M. De Jesús, Chief of Equity and Belonging Johára Tucker, and Head of School Emerita Ellen C. Stein for the All-Alumni Reception. Along with an evening of conversation and reconnecting, the group enjoyed a performance by a jazz trio band. José was delighted to see two graduates from the Class of 2023 whom he had presented with diplomas in June at Dalton’s commencement.

In Boston, undergraduate and graduate students from the Classes of 2019-2023 currently attending Harvard, Tufts, and Northeastern gathered at the Alumni College-Aged Reception. Along with sharing school memories such as playstreet, the young Alums mentioned current and former teachers who inspired them – including Bob Sloan, Joshua Bachrach, David Davidson, Chris Hood, Jennifer Stolper Muenz, Donald Okpalugo, Michèle Viard-André, and Gordon Campbell. 

Dalton’s incoming Director of Alumni Relations, Nicholas Lechich ’06, who joined this reception, said that he is thrilled to be starting his new role in July. He spent the evening catching up with young Alums, whom he fondly remembers from classroom discussions, music and theater performances, assemblies, sports, and much more. 

The next day, Dalton hosted the BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) Boston Alumni Regional Gathering and the All Alumni Gathering with Alumni from the Classes 1956-2020 joining.  

All in all, Dalton welcomed close to 40 Alumni to these regional gatherings making for wonderful moments of getting acquainted and reminiscing.
