Swapping Books and Building Community at the 3rd Annual MS Book Swap
In December, the Dalton PA celebrated its third Annual MS Book Swap for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders at the 89th Street Library, fostering a love for reading and building a sense of community among students.
MS students and families donated hundreds of gently used books for the swap, resulting in an incredible variety of genres and titles to explore. Additionally, students designed their own bookmarks to help decorate the library space, participated in a raffle with prizes, and received magnetic Dalton bookmarks to commemorate the event! The book swap sparked enthusiasm as students discovered new reads, shared recommendations with peers, and engaged in lively discussions on favorite books. With its collaborative spirit and focus on sustainability, the book swap highlighted the joy and power of connecting through books.
