Dalton Track Team Finished On Top At The Penn Relays
The Dalton Tigers had a historic day at the Penn Relays finishing third in the 4x400, earning the first medals for the schools at the prestigious meet. In front of 22,000 people, Courtney Davis got the Tigers started off getting the baton to Alexa Yurick in sixth place. Yurick closed the gap and gave the baton to Taylor Wright who held her own to keep the Tigers in striking distance. Jillian Williams ran the anchor and got the baton in sixth place. She steadily closed the gap and caught the fifth place team with 100 meters to go. She then had the fourth and third place teams in her sights, passing both of them with 5 meters left to secure the third place finish. The team finished in 4:14 _ the second fastest time in school history.
