POCOC invites Dalton familes to a special discussion with Tuskegee Airmen Wilfred DeFour and Reginald T. Brewster, the grandfather of Dalton students Roland and Reginald Brewster.  MS and HS students are welcome to attend the program; childcare will be available for younger children.  The Tuskegee Airmen were an all-black force of elite pilots and ground forces who during World War II served our country with honor and distinction in the face of segregation and discrimination from the U.S. Air Force.  There are only approximately 330 of roughly 16,000 Tuskegee Airmen alive today, all of whom are in their 80’s and 90’s.  In 2007 after more than 60 years, President Bush awarded the Tuskegee Airmen the Congressional Gold Medal. In 2008, President Obama acknowledged our country's debt to these extraordinary pilots and airmen and extended to them an invitation to attend his inauguration.  Please join us for an interesting discussion and celebration of these heroes.
