Flat Stanley's Adventures

A group of House 34 students worked on a pen-pal project based on the book "Flat Stanley". Flat Stanley is a boy who gets flattened by a bulletin board and decides to make the best of it by traveling around the world in an envelope. The kids read the book, made their own Flat Stanleys and sent them on adventures around the world around the world. Read more about Stanley's trip to Istanbul Turkey.
Flat Stanley visited the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Robert College, and the Grand Bazaar.  Do you know where these landmarks are located? They are in Istanbul, Turkey. Flat Stanley accompanied Kehyana and Mack, faculty members from the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and other high school students on an exchange program with students at Robert College, a private high school in Istanbul.

Kehyana and Mack brought Flat Stanley back to House 34. The students in House 34 saw many pictures of Flat Stanley taken on his trip. The FP students researched information about Turkey and created questions to ask the travellers. They wanted to know if Stanley tasted Turkish Delight. They also wanted to know how Istanbul and NYC are similar and different. An interesting fact was that when visiting Turkey you can place one foot on the continent of Asia and the other foot can be standing on the continent of Europe. Lucky Flat Stanley.
