Middle School PA Bookfair - Books, Books and More Books!

Even while Kindles and iBooks are becoming more commonplace, Dalton middle school students, their parents and teachers are still devoted fans of paper and ink and poured into the Goldman Library on Friday, April 12 to peruse and purchase literally thousands of books. Thoughtfully and carefully arranged the night before, the Bookfair opened bright and early early Friday morning, at 7:30 AM. Tables and other colorful displays were artfully and logically arranged by parent volunteers and librarians. "Roxanne Feldman helped incredibly to make the Book Fair happen," said Maria Mileaf, Dalton parent and Bookfair chairperson. She also reported that, "we offered a pre-payment option and many families took advantage...no money needed (for them) the day of the fair."
Witty author Michael Buckley (Nerds, The Sisters Grimm) came to present to the 5th grade and stayed during the fair to sign books. Ms. Mileaf said, "he was incredibly engaging and most gracious. Many children bought his books, or brought favorite copies for Mr. Buckley to sign.

Ms. Mileaf also extended a heartfelt thanks to; the maintenance team who hauled tables and boxes upstairs to make it possible; dozens of volunteers, who set up and worked at the fair; and to Stacey Lorenz and Middle School teachers who worked out time in their schedules, so that every student could have a a chance to visit the Fair.
