The Dalton School held the Interschool Science Symposium on May 1, 2013, hosting distinguished scientist Walter Mischel and his colleague, Katie Insel to lecture about their research on mind-brain science, specifically on impulse control. After the lecture and Q and A, 32 students New York's Interschools displayed their research.
Introduced by Dalton Science Department Chair, Will Hopkins and organized by Ms. Lisa Brizzolara, the second annual Interschool Science Symposium, was very successful, doubling in size of participation from last year. Many students, parents and faculty were in attendance, including Dr. Michel's family. Student researchers displayed complex posters of their daunting research work, representing many months of intensive study and lab work. When asked about their findings, the students gave energized, articulate and expert accounts of their work and discoveries.
