The Dalton Boys Cross Country Team earned its first ever state ranking Wednesday, earning 22nd place in Class C. Led by senior captains Henry Woods and Cal Barnett-Mayotte the Tigers also are ranked 19th in NYC and fifth among private schools. Dalton placed third as a team at the Mayor's Cup meet led by Woods' first place finish with sophomore Dylan Fine not far behind in fourth. The team also came in 5th at the Collegiate Invitational last Friday which helped them the state ranking. Woods, who early this season broke the school record for the 2.5 mile course, is No. 28 in the state among private, catholic and NYC public school runners. The Tigers will finish up their season with the Ivy League Championship race on Friday followed by the NYSAIS meet next Saturday.
