Dalton's Robotics Team Competed at the NYC Championship

Twenty Dalton students on two teams competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge, and were the only teams to go undefeated in the preliminary rounds. This robot competition involved design, construction, programming, and operation.  The robots play a team-based game that is somewhere between gymnastics and basketball. Now in its fourth year, the students have pushed their team and the Dalton Robotics program to a new competitive echelon. The team heads to the Super-regionals.
Dalton’s two teams (Quantum Mechanics and Atomic Theory) went in to the playoffs as the #1 and #2 ranked teams.  In the playoffs, they joined forces and with the team from Stuyvesant and ended as the finalist alliance.  In addition to their success on the field, the judges awarded Quantum Mechanics the Motivate Award for team building, spirit, and enthusiasm.  Both teams qualified for the East Super-regional tournament, a three-day long event at the center of the east coast: York, PA.  That competition will include 72 teams from 12 different states.
