Kindergarten Houses are hatching birds in small incubators in their classrooms. They attended a presentation about predatory birds by a visitor from the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center in Oyster Bay. The children met three visiting birds: a red-tailed hawk, a type of screech owl, and a great-horned owl. Even though all of these raptors are native to this area, it was very exciting for the children to see them up close!
