Story and photos submitted by: Abigail Pogrebin '83, "I just had to write to say kudos to the extraordinary Bob Sloan and his team because last night's Pop Food was one of the most remarkable, convivial, impressive and delicious Dalton events I've ever attended in all my considerable Dalton history. Wow.
The work and the thought that these kids put into the planning and execution was stunning and inspiring-- as professional as any restaurant, but more inspiring and remarkable because they're obviously just kids-- new to ideas about sustainable food and the choreography of service.
The students clearly approached every stage and task so seriously, and the preparation showed. Not to mention, it was a joy to see fellow parents (and many students) greeting each other and chatting in an elegant and unlikely setting -- the transformed cafeteria. What a brilliant community-builder."
