On Friday, six members of the WRESTLING TEAM attended National Qualifiers. In order to qualify for Prep Nationals, wrestlers had to place in the top four of their respective weight class. Casey Schneider (’17), Clay Hamilton (’17), and Faulkner Wilson (’16) placed 5th in their respective weight classes. Three Dalton wrestlers, Willie Swett (’18), Tareq Saghie (’16) and Julien Loo (’17), placed in the top four of their respective weight classes, and will go on to wrestle at Prep Nationals.

To conclude its final game of the regular season, GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL drubbed Fieldston in an astounding 61-23 victory on Wednesday afternoon. Going into the playoffs, the team impressively holds a 22 win to 2 loss record, which situates them at the 2 seed for the NYSAIS Tournament. The team will play the 15th seeded LREI (Little Red School House & Elizabeth Irwin High School), which Dalton triumphed over in a scrimmage previously this season. The game will take place on Tuesday at 5pm at the Dalton Gym (200 E 87th Street). Come out to show your support!

Starting the week off against a tough Fieldston team, BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL lost 59-76 but led a formidable attack behind the 23 points of Max Peponis (’17). On Saturday, the boys got vengeance on the Trinity Tigers, defeating Trinity for the first time this season. This victory solidifies the team’s qualifying for states at the eight seed. It will play against a number one seeded Poly Prep on Wednesday at Poly at 6:30pm in the first round of the B Division NYSAIS Tournament.

JV GIRLS BASKETBALL extended its winning streak on Wednesday, defeating Fieldston in the team’s final game of the season. Zoë Fleishaker (‘18) showed off her shooting range by making two threes in the game, Rain Condie (‘18) showed off her athleticism by getting many steals, and Jocelyn Mayer (‘18) showed off her strength by making several strong moves to the basket. JV Girls Basketball finished the 2015-2016 season with 13 wins for only 2 losses.

BOYS JV BASKETBALL finished its season on a good note with a win against Fieldston on Wednesday.
